Westzaner Dutch Edam Cheese Wedge, 230g
Regular price Rs. 755.00
Westzaner's traditional Dutch Edam Cheese is semi-hard, made in a big round ball, and coated in bright red paraffin wax to protect it. Named after the town of Edam in the province of North Holland, it has been produced since the middle-ages, and since it ages very well and rarely spoils it was often carried on lengthy sea voyages.
Young Edam like this one has a mild, nutty flavour, and soft melt-in-the-mouth texture. It will melt beautifully in any dish you whip up. We love it on a cheese platter with some fresh fruits, crusty bread, or crackers. Serve it with a Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, or Pinot Noir for an incredible pairing.
Also available in slices: Westzaner Dutch Edam Cheese Slices, 160g
Note: The exterior red wax is not edible, but easily slides off the cheese.
Suitable for vegetarians. Country of Origin: The Netherlands.
Net Weight: 230 grams
About Westzaner:
Westzaner, a family-run cheesemaker, has been producing traditional Dutch cheese since 1908. They specialise in naturally-ripened cheese like Gouda and Edam, as well as processed smoked cheese in a variety of flavours. Milk for the cheese is sourced directly from farms in the northern provinces of the Netherlands, and the cheese is carefully aged in temperature and humidity controlled warehouses until they reach their desired flavour and texture.
