Named after Leicestershire, England, Red Leicester has been produced in the same way since the 18th century. While similar to Classic Cheddar cheese, Ford Farm Red Leicester is crumblier owing to its ageing. However, it boasts a slightly sweet, mellow and nutty flavour.
Most noticeably, Red Leicester stands out from its counterparts due to its reddish-orange colour, a result of adding natural annatto extract.

Ford Farm is located in the rolling Dorset Downs of Southwest England. It is one of the few remaining traditional farmhouse cheddar makers, using methods and recipes that date back many hundred years. They use the highest quality milk, sourced from local, free-range dairy herds. The cheddars are aged and graded regularly by in-house graders to check their progress, and released when they have achieved optimum flavour.
