Coquet Giant White Asparagus Tin, Navarra PGI, 780g
Planning a meal for a special occasion or a luxurious gift? It doesn't get any better than this. This legendary Coquet Giant White Asparagus comes from the Navarra region of Spain, where it is certified by law according to the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) regulations - stating that it is grown and produced only in this region which is known for the most delicious, creamy asparagus in the world. Each tin is labeled with the Navarra PGI certification sticker and has a unique numerical identification code.
This giant White Asparagus is graded 6/8, which means that the tin has between 6 and 8 spears in it. Thus, each hand-peeled spear could weigh upto a whopping 83 grams! That is some massive asparagus.
If you visit a bar in Pamplona, the capital of the Navarra region, it is common to see these beauties on the counter with other tapas, simply dressed in olive oil with chopped herbs and served chilled. We love it slightly warm with a blanket of hollandaise sauce on top and a crack of black pepper.
